If you could ask your horse any question, what would it be?
Dear Person,
I have always wondered what kind of questions a person would ask me; I know I would have an answer……probably not a ‘people’ answer, but definitely a horse answer.
Would you ask a question about rather atrocious behavior towards the farrier or the vet?
Would you ask what the big deal is about a tiny mouse scurrying into the long grass at the side of the pathway………(that can be very scary you know, I mean, how does one know it is a mouse and not a lion pretending to be a mouse? Best to leap clear and ask questions later……)
Maybe you would like to ask your horse why he suddenly has boundless energy when he is somewhere he is not supposed to be?
Or, what is it about that pony next door he finds so irritating and annoying?
And the biggest question of all ……… Does he love carrots more than he loves you? (Ummm, of course we love you more than carrots! Sooooo can I have another one…….pleeeeeeze?)
As you know, we horses are very good listeners. When the daily rush is over, and everyone is settled in after evening stables, I find that some people love to take the opportunity to perch in the manger, or on an upside-down bucket…. or maybe just sit in the bedding, propped up against the wall. Of course, there is the chatting as we ride, and while we groom, but the special stuff comes at the end of the day. You must be thinking: “Sheesh – that is a lot of yakking, the poor old horse!” Well, one doesn’t have to be vocal for your horse to hear you, he can read you loud and clear just fine without you saying a word.
So, go ahead and ask me a question, or just say a horsey hello. Of course I do have my own email: hollersthedodger@gmail.com. Or find me on the website, sharlenefrances.com. I will be sure to answer your mail as soon as I come in from the field!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Hols.
